Intake and exhaust valves on
fuel engines are activated through cams. Cams allow a rotation movement
transformed into a rising movement which is necessary and indispensable
transmission motion for many mechanisms. In general, parts driven
directly or by an intermediary element stay continuously on the cam
using a spring system. Cams are manufactured from either complex or
mostly simple profiles depending on requirement or need. Usually,
slightest changes on profiles are sufficient to ensure the required
continuity of motion.
By placing such cam profiles at precise angles on a shaft, it
becomes possible to allow the engine cylinders to be filled with
rich mixtures and to remove the exhaust gases which we call the
wastes of burning mixture in the cylinder.
It is necessary that the required precision for these shafts,
which revolve at 500-3,000 rpm under normal conditions, to stay
within tolerance limits. Therefore, in the manufacturing process,
precise profile grinding machines are used.
The material should be carefully chosen, manufactured precisely,
and the product should be able to withstand extensive friction forces
and heat. Therefore, diligence in selection of material is necessary.
Materials used presently are different from those used in the past.
At present, rather than steels that were hardened by traditional
techniques, nitration hardened steels or chill casting, allowing
to reach the desired hardness during casting, are mostly used in
mass production. For cast camshafts, we use the chill casting technique
instead of simple gray casting, but do not reflect this cost difference
to our prices because of the cost effective operating processes
in our organization.
When further strength is required, like in race car engines,
quality steel shafts are hardened by metal spraying technique for
heavy duty requirements.
Our firm responds to customer requirements at project and mass
production stages under the light of these data. Sales are expanded
to Europe, North America, South America and Asian countries through
its joint venture in Europe.
Among its customers are research and development companies,
engine manufacturers, car part dealers and many service shops that
promote quality and reliability. The team spirit and cost efficiency
in our firm provides motivation for all firms we work with.
All Eksan products are manufactured from high quality materials.
Product flow and diligent quality control processes increase customer
confidence in us. The camshafts we manufacture ensure long-term
operation efficiency as a result of careful and quality based production.
Only perfect parts pass the quality inspections. Therefore, we can
offer extremely attractive warranty conditions to our customers
for Eksan camshafts.
Our firm, offering services in the auto parts industry with its
young ambitious, success-seeking and dynamic staff, who have taken
over their tasks from experienced founders, believes that it is
our duty to serve our valuable customers and all firms operating
in the auto parts industry sector.
